Google Introduces Veo Video Production Model to Challenge Sora
Google stated that it will test the video-to-text tool, Veo, which it introduced at yesterday’s I/O presentation, with select manufacturers. An application form has also been opened for those who want to participate in the tests.
Google announced its new steps in artificial intelligence at yesterday’s I/O 2024 presentation. One of the most prominent announcements was a tool called “Veo,” which allows you to create images from text. A competitor to OpenAI’s Sora model, it is capable of creating high-quality videos in 1080p resolution, longer than 60 seconds, with short text commands. The sample videos demonstrated that Veo could indeed compete with Sora.
Of course, the company hasn’t made Veo widely available yet and has stated that it will be released in the future. However, they added that they will test the model with select users. An application form has been created for those interested in participating.
Only a limited number of people selected by Google will be able to participate in the tests, which can be applied worldwide
Veo will be available through Google Labs. The tech giant says it will only select what it calls “reliable testers” from among the applicants. In other words, people will probably be selected from those who produce such content and artists rather than the general public.
Those selected for the program will have the chance to experience “Imagen 3,” Google’s most advanced tool for generating images from text, as well as Veo. The company aims to improve its models through these tests.
The company, which will check applications regularly, has not specified how many people will be selected. If you’re a confident creator or artist, you can apply for Veo’s tests as follows:
How to apply for Google Veo’s tests:
Step 1: Access the application page via this link.
Step 2: Answer the questions on the form and submit your application.
The form asks users general questions such as the country they live in, their experience with similar tools, and their reasons for wanting to participate.
